I arrived in Kilimanjaro International Airport on June 6, 2021.
This is my dream trip, one I have wanted to take since I was a teenager and saw a documentary on the Serengeti. Today that dream is a reality. Well, not today since I had spotty internet for the first few days, but I am going to try to make some posts and catch up. As you can see, today is actually June 11 and I am already at my 3rd location.
My first stop, for one night, was at the Rivertrees Country Inn in Arusha, Tanzania. I got in kind of late so just had dinner and went to bed, but woke up to strange noises on my roof. I go outside to discover two species of monkeys sitting and playing on the roof of my cabin:
Then I hear some rustling in the trees and look up and spot two rare Black and White Colobus Monkeys:
For me, this trip was already worth the price of admission.
But before long I had to go have breakfast and meet my ride, and private safari guide, Alfred, to my next destination, Acacia Farm Lodge in Karatu and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
