Bora Bora

A day trip to Bora Bora was no small thing. Had to be at the airport for a 7 am hour long flight. The Bora Bora airport is on a separate islet, so you must take a ferry to wherever you want to go on/around Bora Bora.

We had to meet a small charter boat at the ferry harbor on the main island. In that too-small-for-Rosa’s-tastes boat, we went to 3 snorkel spots and then to a private beach to have lunch prepared by a Tahitian family on a small islet. Then ferry, flight, taxi and back to our bungalow. It was an awesome day, except for another camera malfunction so I could not get any pictures of the manta ray at the first snorkel site.

The second snorkel spot, however, featured a school of blacktip reef sharks and stingrays that you could pet.

The third stop was called Coral Gardens (doesn’t every tropical reef paradise have a site called Coral Gardens?) The main feature was a semi-domesticated giant green moray eel being fed by our snorkel guide.

And then lunch
